The Wings

She wanted more

She could not put a finger on it but she wanted more

So, off she went

In the direction of her dreams

Abandoning the expectations

Deserting the mould

Riddled with guilt

She pressed on

And when it got cold, she had to make a choice

To return to the lukewarm pond or to proceed in search of her fire

A storm broke and in the chaos it called her name

She followed the sound

Right back home

To where her ancestors waited

To give their blessings

And send her back on her way

With wings!
